Warning Corals!
The Mediterranean Sea has been identified as a major climate change hotspot and displays a significant warming trend, with several effects on marine ecosystems. The most significant impacts related to warming are the mass mortality events on corals, gorgonians and other macro-invertebrates species (sponges, bryozoans), which can significantly change the species distribution. Other impacts include shifts in reproduction periods, and colonization of alien species with more tropical affinities. This project wants to monitor the coral populations and study the changes caused by climate change in order to propose efficient management tools for these species.

Warning Corals!
Scientists still need to know how the corals and gorgonians are distributed in the Mediterranean Sea, and everything about their reproduction and how it is affected by climate change.
If you dive in coralligenous areas, you can send a picture of any species of corals and gorgonians that you see, and fill in a form with the following data:
- Data
- Location
- Species
- Depth
- Water temperature
- If there is reproduction, conservation status.
