Brings you the best marine ecotourism experiences in Europe

Objective

SeaWatch

SeaWatch Foundation is a UK marine environmental charity working to improve the conservation of whales, dolphins and porpoises in the seas around Britain and Ireland. They achieve this through the involvement of the public in scientific monitoring, raising awareness and understanding of marine mammals and the threats they face.

About this project

SeaWatch

By monitoring the numbers and locations of whales and dolphins the SeaWatch Foundation can gain valuable knowledge of the health of the marine environment and insight into the effects of chemical pollution, noise disturbance, over-fishing, accidental capture in fishing gear, and climate change.

How can you contribute?

SeaWatch Foundation

The SeaWatch Foundation is very active and has several iniciatives for citizens and tourism operators to help them by reporting sightings of cetaceans, or even by becoming a regular Cetacean Observer. Get involved in the country-wide event National Whale & Dolphin Watch, which happens every year in summer  to get a general “snapshot” of what is in UK coastal waters over a short period of time. Or take part in the Orca Watch, happening again every year in May-June, or just report your sightings directly into their website. You choose! There are regional coordinators all over UK's coast; find the one in your region and contact them!
