The Capital Region of Denmark is the easternmost administrative region of the country. This region is formed mainly by islands and includes the city of Copenhagen. Copenhagen is the capital and most populous city of Denmark, and its development has always been closely related to the sea since its foundation as a Viking fishing village.
Bornholm Island, also known as “sunny island”, is the most eastern area of Denmark. The island’s topography consists of dramatic rock formations in the North and sandy beaches in the South, creating a beautiful and varied landscape. There are plenty of places to visit and things do in what is considered “Denmark’s Baltic gem”.
