Hop aboard a full-day boat trip from Bunagee pier to Inishtrahull Island, a designated protected area due to its rich wildlife. Relax and enjoy the view with a cup of tea, coffee or a glass of wine, but keep an eye out as along the way you might spot dolphins, minke whales or even basking sharks, all frequent in these waters! If you feel like working on your mariner skills, you can try to steer the boat and help out with the sailing tasks.
Hop aboard a full-day boat trip in Donegal that will take you to explore the wild and uninhabited island of Inishtrahull, sailing aboard a luxurious yacht and led by your expert, local skipper. During the journey, you might encounter different speces of dolphins, which are a common sight, especially during the summer months. On some rare ocassions there is a change to sight minke whales and even basking sharks, with a bit of fortune. Once docked at the island, you will be provided with a light lunch on board before going to the shore and visit the whole island on your own, under the continued supervision of the resident seals lounging on the rocks.
There are many things to see once on land: the old buildings where the islanders lived years ago before they had to evacuate the island, the old school, the cemetery, the lighthouses -old and new- not to mention the numerous rabbits and a couple of deer that are still present, as well.
