Explore the rugged and vivid coastline of Sesimbra, learn about its marine wildlife and join a sea kayaking tour or dolphin watching tour to make the most of your time in the diving capital of Portugal.
This extraordinary diving holiday will take you to Sesimbra, home to Arrabida Natural Park and one of the landmark diving destinations of the WAOH! Route. Often known as the diving capital of Portugal, Sesimbra is a lovely fishing village located just 30 km from Lisbon and a stunning destination offering endless opportunities to explore the marine realm above and underneath the surface.
Your holiday includes a special program combining a range of diving & marine activities, to make sure that you enjoy your time in Sesimbra to the fullest. Below you will find an overview of the program (please note that the order of the activities may vary depending on the weather and sea conditions).

Day 1: Welcome to Sesimbra!
At your arrival, your transfer service will be waiting for you at Lisbon airport (or Lisbon city, at your convenience) to take you to your hotel in Sesimbra.
Days 2: It’s time to dive!
The coastlines of Sesimbra is prized for its south-facing orientation, offering sheltered turquoise and emerald waters. Here you can enjoy dives of different depths of 5 to 10 meters for beginners and up to 30 meters for more experienced divers. You will see vast forests of gorgonians and a rich variety of wildlife, such as nudibranchs, spotted lobsters, seahorses or cuttlefish.
Day 3: Explore the Arrabida Natural Park
Diving in Arrabida takes place along the coast of Sesimbra, in the marine reserve of Prof. Luís Saldanha, the largest Portuguese marine reserve (38 km long). You will have the opportunity to dive with more than 1000 species, some of which you can hardly find anywhere else. Sting rays, flounders and sea bream favour sandy bottoms, while mullet, octopus and sea bass are among the species that can be found in rocky areas.
Day 4: Sea kayaking or coasteering: You choose!
The protected coasts facing south of Sesimbra are a perfect territory for beginners and advanced paddlers alike. Along the coast of the Arrabida Natural Park, canoeists can enjoy the scenery of lighthouses, churches, fortresses, fishing villages and vineyards surrounding the Setúbal countryside and sometimes even spot dolphins.
Or if you are looking for adrenaline, choose a coasteering adventure instead and get ready to scramble, swim, climb and jump from its amazing cliffs!
Day 5: Dolphin watching tour
Sesimbra it’s as well an ideal place for boat tours as host shoals of bottlenose dolphins and common dolphins. During the guided tour you will go searching for these amazing mammals while learning all about their habitat and their behaviour besides enjoying the beauty of the Sesimbra coastline from the sea.
Day 6: Transfer back to the airport in Lisbon
We will take you back to Lisbon airport in time for your return flight. It's just goodbye, we hope to see you again in another destination along the stunning WAOH! Route!
