This 2 to 3-hour guided tour departs from the beach of Laida, where you will meet your Tour Guide and be transferred to the top of the Gernika estuary, in the municipality of Gautegiz Arteaga.
Before entering the water, you will be provided with a life jacket and practice some basic rowing exercises to make sure that you are comfortable throughout the tour and get the most out of the kayaking, canoeing or paddling experience. During the ascent or descent of the river -depending on the tide- with little effort and without difficulty, you will enjoy the extraordinarily beautiful and varied natural space of Urdaibai.
The Urdaibai estuary is a natural area formed at the mouth of the Oka river, in the Biscay region of Busturialdea. It is the most important wetland in the Basque Countryand a relevant resting and wintering area for migratory birds. It is also known as the Mundaka estuary or Gernika estuary and has been declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO.
