El Penon is just a short swim away from the Tabaiba coast. The wreck lays at a maximum depth of 32 meters and lists approximate 40 degrees to starboard side. She was sunk as an artificial reef and you can enter the bridge and engine room if you have the appropriate training. If you are not trained for wreck penetration, you can join us in one of our IANTD or PADI wreck diver courses.
There is a rich variety of marine life in and outside the wreck: octopus, moray eels, roncador, stingray, barracuda, garden eels, amongst many others!
Because of the depth, to dive this wreck you need to hold a PADI Advanced Diver certificate or equivalent.
Very important: To take part in our El Penon wreck dive you need to bring a valid ID, dive certification, logbook and (as required by Canary law) a dive insurance.
