"El Garraf" Natural Park covers 12.376Ha between the Mediterranean coastline and the wine region of Penedes. Its landscape is very original, quite different and unique for Catalonia. The coastal location determines a typical Mediterranean climate. The reliefs are low and rounded peaks, deep valleys, steep slopes, and gray- whitish rocky walls. The limestone has created an exotic landscape, rich in karst forms - dolines, avens, and caves - and with vegetation; the species best known is the European fan palm, the only palm native in Europe. Garraf looks wild and rough in contrast to the refreshing view of the blue Mediterranean horizon. The vineyard huts and stone walls are hidden in the middle of white stone and surround old farmhouses and some of the small towns that are inside the park.
