Svealand is located in central Sweden and is the historical, core Swedish region. Historically, Svealand was the land of the “Svear”, a German tribe that lived in this region. You can find stunning landscapes with woodlands in the West, archipelagos in the East and snowy mountains in the North. The limit of Svealand with Götaland is bounded by the deep forests of Tiveden, Tylöskog and Kolmården.
Stockholm, capital of Sweden and the most populous city in the Nordic countries, is located in Svealand and its citizens call the city the “beauty on water”.
